Pencil Pleats

These are folds gathered closely together to resemble a row of pencils laid side-by-side. They are created by pulling the cords on the heading tape and winding them around a cord tidy to keep the pleats in place. The width of pencil pleat curtains can be altered by adjusting the draw cord.

Double or Triple Pinch Pleats

These curtains are suitable for tracks or poles, and feature gathered fabric with permanently sewn pinches along the header of the curtain. The double or triple pinches use more fabric than a pencil pleat, so therefore create a fuller curtain. This type of curtain will only fit the window it has been measured for because the width is pre-set.
