SAMPLES
Whilst we try to reproduce colours of fabrics accurately all monitors vary and therefore it is advised that customers use our sampling service to see the actual fabric before ordering. If you require an exact match please ask for a ‘stock’ cutting so that you can be sure that the fabric you order will be exactly the same shade as the sample, as batch variation can differ. Samples are pre-cut and multiple orders are sent as individual pieces. Samples are non-returnable.
FABRIC
Fabrics such as silks and linens often have natural characteristics.
We cannot accept returns for such natural occurrences. With both printed and woven fabrics every effort is made to avoid irregularities, occasionally they may occur. Fabric is not completely stable and it cannot be taken for granted that, whether printed or woven, the pattern will be completely ‘square’ on the cloth. When planning multiple width curtains, please make certain before cutting, that pattern alignment is adequate to produce a satisfactory result. We cannot allow claims after goods are cut. Repeat lengths may vary from roll to roll and we would advise you to be generous in your estimates. Fabrics are not guaranteed against colour fading. Pattern repeat can sometimes vary so please double check repeats before cutting.
Unless otherwise stated in the product description we advise that all fabrics are dry cleaned.
FABRIC CARE
The principal causes of soiling are airborne dust, smoke, gas or open fires and accidental spillage or staining, most of which can be avoided or reduced. Regular cleaning by vacuum cleaner with the appropriate attachment can significantly extend the life of furnishings.
It is generally inadvisable to use proprietary spot-cleaners or dry-cleaning aerosol sprays. The professional application of a proprietary stain resist agent can aid in preventing premature soiling, particularly on upholstery.
It is important not to wash items such as full-lengths of fabric in a domestic washing machine as the abrasion will cause colour loss, shrinkage and/or creasing. Almost all washing powders contain bleach or optical brightening agents which unfortunately have the disadvantage of dulling colours, or causing apparent fading.
WE CANNOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE CAUSED TO FABRICS WHICH HAVE BEEN WASHED.
PVC TABLECLOTHS
Our PVC fabrics are not stain resistant and are wipeable only unless stated otherwise.
SHRINKAGE / FABRIC APPEARANCE
We cannot guarantee that there will not be shrinkage in the fabric subsequent to purchase and make up. Always make allowances for possible shrinkage when making curtains and loose covers. Most fabrics tend to shrink when laundered, cleaned or to a lesser extent whilst in use, in certain atmospheric conditions. Atmospheric conditions may vary between our workroom and your house and in different weather and seasons. We cannot control these conditions and therefore cannot accept responsibility for movement or the general appearance in curtains or blinds when hung. Heavier fabrics may react to changing humidity; and the control of humidity in a room remains the customer’s responsibility. 5 – 6% shrinkage is considered normal for fabrics not claimed to be shrink resistance.
We recommend generous hems loosely stitched in case lengthening is necessary due to any of the above-mentioned points.
The cost of making such alterations remains the responsibility of the customer. Please ensure that you have ordered sufficient material to complete the work, as it may not be possible to obtain exactly the same shade at a later date due to minor dye batch variations.
